Thoroughly Overcome Sectarian Sentiments

Pages 68-70 | Published online: 20 Dec 2014

Abstract

I am a cadre doing personnel work in the administrative department of education, and the people I meet and see are mostly intellectuals. For a variety of reasons, intellectuals are indeed more prone to problems. Since I lack an adequate understanding of these problems, I have developed serious sectarian sentiments. Having studied the documents of the Eighth National Congress of the Party, especially Chairman Mao's opening speech and Comrade Deng Xiaoping's report on the revision of the Party constitution, I have received a deep education. In his opening speech Chairman Mao pointed out: "There still exist among our comrades viewpoints and styles of work that run counter to Marxism-Leninism, namely, subjectivism in ideology, bureaucratism in work, and sectarianism in organization." His words sounded the alarm for us.
