Abstract
August 15, 1958, was a beautiful day. The entire faculty and student body of the Shansi Agricultural College were dressed up neatly, as i f they were involved in some happy occasion. They formed a long line and proceeded jubilantly to the railway station in T'ai-ku to greet Ning Hua-t'ang, dressed in a pair of mountain boots and coarse clothes, who was a specialist in herding sheep and had been invited by the college to take a post as professor in the department of animal husbandry.
