Abstract
After the Establishment of Joint Management, There Was a Change in the Nature of the Enterprise, as Well as in Both the Relationship Between Labor and Management and in the Attitude Toward Labor. Following the change in the nature of the South Seas enterprise, there was a great change in the contradiction of the relationship between labor and management, and there were no longer any disputes between the two. This development meant that the establishment of joint public-private management at South Seas set an example for the rest of the industry. At the time there were many capitalists who were envious of the establishment of joint public-private management at South Seas. One such was Chang Ch'un-shen of the Great Southeast Tobacco Factory [Ta tung-nan yen-ch'ang] who volunteered the information that part of the factory was owned by an enemy (in reference to the assets of P'an Kungchan), in an effort to apply for the establishment of joint management.
