Abstract
Inequality between men and women is not a social phenomenon dating back to time immemorial, but it emerged together with the slave system. Oppression of working women is, first and foremost, class oppression. Inequality between men and women is created by class antagonism. Precisely as Engels pointed out: "The first class antagonism which appears in history coincides with the development of the antagonism between man and woman in monogomous marriage, and the first class oppression with that of the female sex by the male" (The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State).
