Abstract
I, Nyok-Ching Tsur, was born on December 14, 1883, in Ningpo in Chekiang Province, the son of We-Kiao, retired mandarin, now living in Shanghai, and of his wife née Chin. My religious faith is Confucian. From my fifth to thirteenth year I had private instruction in my parental house. In 1899 I enrolled at St. John's College in Shanghai, an American missionary high school, and graduated from it in 1903.
