Abstract
Throughout the country, Aspirations created layer upon layer of controversy. People sympathized with Liu Huifang, worried about her, admired her, and were concerned for her when in the final scenes she lay on her sick bed. It was in this atmosphere of concern for Liu Huifang that my thoughts turned to the Women's Federation. When I recalled the many years of publicity of women's liberation by hundreds of thousands of Women's Federation cadres, all of whose effort was going down the drain because of a "Liu Huifang," I felt uneasy.
