Abstract
Is family support for the elderly strengthening or weakening? This paper holds that family support for the elderly in China is weakening, and the cultural sign of this weakening is that family eldercare is gradually turning from a cultural into a behavioral norm. Fostering a socialist culture of respect and support for the elderly is of great importance in reinforcing family eldercare in China.
