The Problem of German Instruction for German Emigrant Returnees

Pages 70-76 | Published online: 08 Dec 2014

Abstract

Since the abrupt increase in the number of German emigrant returnees from scarcely 80,000 in 1987 to over 200,000 in 1988 and as a consequence of the steady influx of emigrants of at present about 200,000 per year, bilingual German instruction has experienced a scarcely foreseeable boom.
