Abstract
There is a big interest in France in German vocational education. A prime question is to what extent the dual training system would be a good model for reform of vocational education in France. Conversely, interest in and solid knowledge of the French vocational education system and the problems the German system is currently experiencing have hitherto been largely limited to a small number of experts on vocational education.
