Abstract

As reported in the press, a plenary meeting of the Committee for Lenin Prizes in Science and Technology, after thorough discussion and a secret ballot, accepted forty works for the next stage of the competition for 1965 Lenin Prizes. The plenary meeting deferred or rejected all other entries as falling short of the high standards required. The list of works accepted includes a complex of studies by L. V. Kantorovich, V. S. Nemchinov and V. V. Novozhilov: The Elaboration of Mathematical Methods for Solving Problems in Planning and Managing the National Economy [Razrabotka matematicheskikh metodov resheniia zadach planirovaniia i upravleniia narodnym khoziaistvom].
