Abstract

Our lead article, by E. O. Zeiliger & M. A. Levina, provides empirical data on the development of preschool children's play within the structural-analytic framework of M. Ia. Basov, to which we devoted two issues of this journal in 1991 (Vol. 26, Nos. 5 and 6). J. Valsiner (1988), to whom we are indebted for this contribution, as well as the earlier articles by Basov, emphasizes the contemporary relevance of Basov's ideas as an early stage in a dynamic systems approach to human development.
