Abstract
The papers gathered in this number of the Journal of Russian and East European Psychology are drawn from contributions to an international conference on "L.S. Vygotsky and the Contemporary Sciences" held in the small town of Golitsina, not far from Moscow, in the fall of 1994. The conference was organized on the American side by James Wertsch and on the Russian side by Vladimir Zinchenko and Vladimir Ageev. Funds for the meeting were provided by a grant from the International Research and Exchange Board and the Russian Academy of Education.
