Abstract

The collection of writings presented here provides a glimpse of the spiritual and intellectual turmoil that has accompanied the overthrow of the Soviet regime and, no doubt, will prevail for many years. Although the subject of these writings is "literature and religion," the arguments often range quite far beyond these topics, to touch upon questions of society, morals, and cultural and intellectual history.
