The More You Know About Politics, the Worse It Is

Interview with Gennadii Burbulis

Pages 17-28 | Published online: 09 Dec 2014

Abstract

A. Udul 'tsov, editor in chiex Gennadii Eduardovich, before our meeting I reread a report of our previous meeting-we chatted four years ago in the same hall. I wanted to find out whether the intervening years have borne out our forecast. But I saw that we were discussing something quite different then. There was nothing in that conversation that connects with things today. That was another life, another country. Does anyone now remember, say, the Interregional Deputy Group? Russia's Choice? Where did it all go? What happened to our democratic movement? Where is the romanticism of perestroika?
