Regional Ethnic Conflicts

Abstract

Perestroika and the breakup of the Soviet Union were marked by a large number of regional conflicts, which were dubbed ethnic. Between December 1986 and December 1995, a total of over one hundred such conflicts were registered. The author has gathered information on each, primarily from our press, totaling over 3,000 factual accounts theoretical material from magazine articles and monographs was likewise used.
