Abstract
This country has lost its social guidelines. And, accordingly, so have the schools. It is very unlikely these days that a schoolchild could explain intelligently what the word "patriotism" means to today's rising generation. How should one manifest patriotism, for whom or what? Yet another insubstantial word that has come to be a laughable archaism is "ideals." It has been almost totally driven out of our daily usage by the overseas "bucks" everybody lusts after.
