Abstract
No matter how great the country's and the people's losses have been, Russia is still a great power; its economic, scientific and technical, and cultural potential is quite considerable. The country and the people have lost neither the desire nor the ability to alter the negative course of events and to find a new path to general prosperity. I believe that, today, precisely this idea of prosperity and development can become our main national idea. However, in resolving the question of how to achieve such development and the path to prosperity, we must not shy away from discussing various specific projects and ideological conceptions. By no means all the paths that various political groups are encouraging us to follow will lead to prosperity.
