Abstract
The period of comprehensive building of a communist society in our country is characterized by further enlargement of the role and significance of the Communist Party as the leading and guiding force in Soviet society. It is firmly and unswervingly effectuating the general line developed by the 20th, 21st, and 22nd congresses of the CPSU. It is solving the principal tasks in the building of communism: the establishment of the foundation for communism in material goods and technology, and the improvement, on this basis, of the living standard of the Soviet people; the development of communist social relations; and the communist upbringing of the working people. The CPSU is consistently carrying into practice Lenin's principles and standards for the life of the party and state, and it is developing the creative activity of the masses in every possible way.
