Abstract
All the activity of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union is now proceeding under the influence of the ideas and decisions of its 23rd Congress. The Congress dealt with the pressing economic and political problems of the country's life and clearly defined and scientifically validated the principal tasks of the party and people for the years immediately ahead. In the Report of the Central Committee and the delegates' speeches, note was taken of the fact that from the standpoint of the development of the Communist Party, the period between the 22nd and 23rd congresses was characterized by a further strengthening of its ranks and an enhancement of its political and organizing role in Soviet society. Lenin's standards of party life and his principles of leadership have taken firm root in the party. The party became stronger and more monolithic, and the ties binding it to the people became firmer.
