Abstract
The past year was marked by a particularly high level of political and work activity on the part of the Soviet people, calledforth by the preparation for, and celebration of, the fiftieth anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution. Under those circumstances there was a heightened effort on the part of advanced people in our society to enter the ranks of the Communist Party. The primary Party organizations and district and urban committees of the Party, guided by the principle of individual selection, provided a worthy new enrollment into the ranks of the CPSU during the anniversary year.
