Abstract
The profound positive changes that have recently been taking place in world politics have gone far toward normalizing the international climate and have created favorable preconditions for wide-ranging cooperation between countries with different social systems. As has been demonstrated by the results of L. I. Brezhnev's recent visit to the United States, these same possibilities also characterize Soviet-American relations. They touch on a number of questions, including trade and economic ties and relations in the area of science and technology.
