Sociological Studies of Communist Party Organizational Problems

Abstract

The improvement in the degree to which the work of Party organizations in solving political and economic problems is conducted on a scientific basis, which has been particularly noticeable in the course of implementing the decisions of the Twenty-Fourth Congress of the CPSU, finds clear expression in the realm of Party organization and in improvements in the forms and methods of Party activity. An important place in this process is occupied by the conducting of empirical sociological studies making it possible to obtain diverse and objective information about the state of Party organizations, to synthesize experience, to reveal shortcomings, and to uncover their causes and plot programs for eliminating them. Some experience has been accumulated in utilizing the data of sociological studies of problems of Party organization. A number of articles have been published on this subject. (1) They indicate the pressing need to expand this kind of research and the considerable attention being paid to it by the scholarly and Party communities.
