Abstract
The life of society is saturated with many phenomena and events. Political power serves as a sort of focus for them all. Under socialism it serves as a powerful factor in socioeconomic and ideological processes. However, the attention of scholars has previously been concentrated primarily on state power, and only certain aspects of political power have been analyzed. Yet, under the conditions of developed socialism, comprehensive treatment of problems is essential. Among them the following stand out: the nature of power and its role in the management of society and the state, the influence of power on social processes, and the mechanism of power and democracy.
