Resort Customs and the "Caprices" of Their Clientele

Pages 78-100 | Published online: 08 Dec 2014

Abstract

Each summer tens of millions of people in our country pick themselves up and travel on vacation. Some need to improve their health - they acquire passes to sanatoriums. Others spend their vacations at resorts or hiking camps. Still others just go, at their own risk, to the seashore, pushing up the price of a cot and producing waiting lines at the doors of cafeterias and restaurants. And in recent years the large, restless, and very mobile tribe of car owners has been added to the list.
