Abstract
As was noted in the decree of the CPSU Central Committee, "On the Sixtieth Anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution," the past decade has been saturated with events of tremendous historical importance. There can be no doubt that among these events are the important decisions and vast measures to protect the environment undertaken in our country and in the international arena. The estimate of the significance of this problem — and of the scope of forces and funds applied to solve it in our country — is rising from congress to congress. Goals, means, and concrete measures for the protection of the natural environment are set forth in the CPSU Program and the decisions of the Twenty-third and Twenty-fourth Congresses of the CPSU.
