Abstract
The development of foreign economic ties holds an important place among the tasks posed by the "Main Directions for the Development of the USSR Economy in 1976-80." Specific provision is made for the following: the fullest possible expansion and deepening of economic and scientific-technological cooperation with socialist countries based on mutual benefit and comradely mutual aid; the expansion and strengthening of ties with developing countries on a long-term, stable, and mutually beneficial basis; and the further development of trade and mutually beneficial economic and scientific-technological cooperation with the industrially advanced capitalist countries on a long-term basis.
