New Technology and Copyright Law

Pages 33-44 | Published online: 08 Dec 2014

Abstract

The very origin of copyright law is associated with the advent and development of technical means for copying individual works. Conceived as the law governing the production and sale of copies of books, it has been continually improved, and the sphere of its action has been refined and expanded as new technical means have been developed for using works of science, literature, and art. Specialists working in the area of copyright law are constantly faced with the task of seeing to it that copyright law properly reflects the state of technology and that it is perfected to keep pace with technological development.
