Abstract
The materials of the Twenty-sixth CPSU Congress that deal with the question of improving the state economic management system fall into one of two categories: (1) specific indications of the improvements slated to be made in the existing system of management in the immediate future; (2) general ideas intended for the more distant future (radical improvement of the system of management, its restructuring in accordance with the need for the further development of mature socialism). What are the content and significance of these ideas?
