Abstract

The subject of the legal status of women in the Middle Ages has grown steadily in popularity at international scientific forums in the past decade. Although the question of the social and legal status of women in medieval Russia was taken up in pre-Revolutionary juridical literature, it has not yet been dealt with from a materialistic perspective.1
