Abstract
The investigation of the case of the assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II, which began in Rome on May 27, 1985, is still far from completed: in September, the court resumed its sessions after an interruption for "summer holidays." Although it is still too early to speak about the results of this judicial inquiry, nonetheless we can examine and evaluate the course and the results of its first phase and call attention to some of the trends that have emerged.
