Abstract
Legendary Siberia stretches across the northern part of the Asian continent, occupying one-fourth of its area. Siberia's riches are varied: it has been renowned since antiquity for its furs, precious metals, diamonds, ores, and timber. Siberia would appear to have everything: raw materials and energy sources, fertile land, and full-flowing rivers. For a long time, "black gold"—oil—was the only resource that could not be found in the Siberian earth.
