Abstract
The article by A. Prokhanov published in LG on February 17 posed questions concerning events in Afghanistan. The questions are belated. But this is not the fault of the author. It's just that the subject for a long time was closed: only now are we beginning to debate about the circumstances, reasons, and consequences of our participation in these dramatic events and to try to understand why and how the decision of eight years ago was made.
