Abstract
The beginning of the century in Russia was a time of active formation of more than a dozen major political parties, a time of the first serious revolutionary uprising and not simply a "senseless and merciless" Russian rebellion, and a time of the first birth pangs preceding the advent of a new society, of a new state.
