Abstract

The system of political parties in our country is at present in the very early stages of development. More than a hundred participants, many of whom, as we understand, represent nobody but themselves, took part in a round-table of parties and movements that was held in March 1993. Petr Anatol'evich, does it not seem to you that a few years ago there was a real opportunity to establish a more organic and cohesive multiparty system on the basis of the CPSU than the present conglomeration of protoparty structures? A second question: public opinion views your party as one of the most promising political organizations in Russia. What are your origins, and what path have you traversed from the moment you entered the scene?
