Abstract
The recent public inclination toward the establishment of a "firm government" capable of bringing order to the country is most directly related to fascist tendencies and their effect on the character of the political regime in post-totalitarian Russian society. The abundant evidence of the growth of authoritarian attitudes in Russians' social consciousness is more and more frequently being treated in the political science literature and in analysts' commentaries as a direct sign that there is a growing danger of a fascist dictatorship in Russia.
