Abstract
Hypocrisy reigned for centuries in Russia, and only in the last few years has its dominion in literature, art, and public life been sharply reduced. In th 1990s a sexual revolution began in Russia, just as it had in the West a quarter of a century earlier, moreover—with vulgar pomography and primitive eroticism.
