Abstract

Sergei Rogov, a doctor of historical sciences, is forty-eight years old. For a long time, until last year when he was elected director of the Institute of the United States and Canada, Russian Academy of Sciences, he headed the Military and Political Research Division in this institute. Issues concerning the development of the Russian armed forces-are among this scholar's professional interests.
