Abstract
For some time, references to the Latin American experience have become almost customary in the press. And not only in the press: one hears references to Latin America even in daily conversation. It is not that we have become better acquainted with this distant continent, but simply that an unpredictable and unstable life impels us to seek parallels and justification in others' experiences. Since the days of the Soviet censor, we have been used to thinking in analogies. Find a similarity, and you have proven your argument.
