Special Characteristics of the Post-Soviet Political Regime

Abstract

The authoritarian regime that emerged in Russia in the 2000s following a reverse wave of de-democratization remains distinct from totalitarianism and can best be described in terms of atomization, traditionalism without traditions, and patrimonialism.
