Abstract
A new method for investigating the motility of the Fallopian tubes is described. A few droplets of iodized oil are injected into one tube and their pattern of behaviour is studied by X-ray fluorography, using both a television picture and a cine-film.
It was found that the behaviour of the droplets appears to follow a specific pattern, but that some variations occur.
Technically the technique is relatively simple and does not cause much discomfort to the patient. It permits a reasonable assessment of the peristaltic activity of the tubes to be made.
