Abstract
Using animal experiments, the authors studied the mode of action of F 6066 (Cyclofenil) which is one of the chemical inducers of ovulation, and reached the following conclusions. F 6066 has a dose-dependent effect, enhancing the actions of gonadotropin in the ovary. The activity of steroidogenic enzymes, such as Δ5-3β-ol dehydrogenase, NAD-, NADP-diaphorase and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, was activated directly by the administration of F 6066 in hypophysectomized experimental animals. Therefore, F 6066 not only showed a biological action on the hypothalamo-pituitary system promoting gonadotropin release, but also a direct action on the ovary enhancing the response of the gonad to gonadotropins.
