Abstract
A case is reported of fetal paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia detected during fetal distress. The trans-vaginal technique was used for the electrocardiographic recording. Fetal distress was demonstrated by measuring fetal blood pH taken from the scalp and umbilical cord. During a 2-hour recording, before caesarean section was performed, paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia of 300 b/min and atrial fibrillation were observed. The ECG of the infant was completely normal 8 hours after birth.
