Abstract

A material of 22 patients with metallic implants was used in a longitudinal study, based on lateral head-plates, of the relationship between: 1) the maxillary rotation and the cranial base 2) the maxillary rotation and the different mandibular rotations. No connection has been found between the variation of the maxillary rotation and the growth of the cranial base. The correlation between the maxillary and the mandibular rotations is the highest when the rotation of the corpus is considered. A strong correlation is found between the variation of the condylar growth direction and the variation of the maxillary rotation.
