Abstract
By systematic bronchoscopy is understood a systematic examination of the various bronchial ramifications. There are numerous anatomical variations in the ramifications of the bronchial tree; a particular type can, however, be regarded as the most characteristic one. This type is described both for the left and for the right-hand side, a few anatomical variations which are of great importance for bronchoscopy being cited. A description is given of the manner in which, taking into consideration the anatomy of the bronchial tree, the various branches can be examined in a definite sequence and with particular positions of the head.
