Abstract
Where surgical treatment of the frontal sinus has not resulted in a patent opening between the nasal meatus and the frontal sinus, it is possible to help the patient in two ways: (1) by maintaining the patency of the nasofrontal passage with a drainage tube, or (2) by performing an obliterating operation on the frontal sinus. According to the literature, experience with the former method does not seem to be sufficient, and it is therefore desirable to add to the available information by reporting on a few cases treated at the Department of Otology, Rhinology and Laryngology of Turku University.
