Abstract
“Topostasin foam” was employed as local haemostatic after tonsillectomy in a series of 529 patients. Its effectiveness was determined by comparison with a control material. Using “Topostasin foam” the incidence of post-operative haemorrhage fell from 4.0 per cent to 2.8 per cent. Although the difference was not statistically significant, “Topostasin foam” may be recommended as an excellent haemostatic for local use.
