Abstract
The lateralisation of bone-conducted sound from the forehead (Weber test) is discussed. Perception of tones from the handle of a tuning fork in the ear affected with conduction deafness only is due not to better bone-conduction of this ear, but to an effect of veritable perception of sound direction by phase differences. The paper contains notes on the theory of bone-conducted sounds and Mr. Fournier's Faux-Bing test.
