Abstract
Since 1953 corticosteroids have been used in treatment of more than 1000 cases of pseudocroup. (Nilsson & Olow 1954, Mårtensson & Nilsson 1958.) A comparison has now been made in about 500 cases where one half were treated with corticosteroids, the other without. The symptoms of laryngeal obstruction disappeared earlier in the former group. The difference is statistically significant.
