Respiratory Obstruction by Paresis of the Vocal Cords

Abstract

Immovable vocal cords may cause breathing troubles. A subject with paresis of one vocal cord and a small glottic chink may have breathing troubles, and another subject with paresis of both vocal cords and a smaller glottic chink may have no breathing troubles. How to explain this difference?
