Abstract

A case of primary amyloidosis of the larynx is described. The general clinical investigation showed nothing abnormal, except an increased serum cholesterol value, and a slight shift in the serum lipoprotein pattern (chylomicron content increased, low β-fraction). There were no signs of generalized amyloidosis (Congo red test normal, normal liver biopsy findings).
